Grzegorz Piątek

 

Architectural critic, Warsaw historian, curator, commentator, trained as an architect. He is the author of a biography of Warsaw Mayor Stefan Starzyński (2016) and The Best City in the World: Warsaw Under Reconstruction 1944–1949, for which he was nominated for the 2021 Nike Literary Award. He is the co-author of other publications on Warsaw, and also published Icing and Meat: Architecture in Poland after 1989 (with Jarosław Trybuś and Marcin Kwietowicz, 2013). In 2008 he co-authored the exhibition Hotel Polonia: The Afterlife of Buildings, which won a Golden Lion at the 11th Architecture Biennale in Venice.
